Pratik Gandhi, Wife Bhamini Oza To Play Mahatma Gandhi And Kasturba Gandhi In Hansal Mehta’s Web Series Gandhi | First Look Out
April 11, 2024Pratik Gandhi and Bhamini Oza, the real-life couple, will soon portray as a reel-life couple on the screen. Filmmaker Hansal Mehta, after the massive success of Scam 1992 and Scoop, has decided to bring a new show ‘Gandhi’. on OTT Pratik Gandhi will be playing the titular role of Mahatma Gandhi, marking his another collaboration with Hansal Mehta. Now, the makers have announced the role of Bhamini Oza in the series, who will potray Mahatma Gandhi’s wife Kasturba Gandhi.
Pratik Gandhi and Bhamini Oza will be coming together on screen for the first time. Sharing her thoughts on getting this opportunity to work with husband Pratik Gandhi and filmmaker Hansal Mehta, the actress said in a statement, “Stepping into Kasturba Gandhi’s shoes feels like a beautiful twist of fate in my acting journey. Working with Hansal Mehta and the Applause Entertainment team is a dream come true, especially alongside my husband Pratik. From our early theatre days, we’ve dreamed of sharing the screen together, and now it’s finally happening. My attempt is to bring honesty to the character and a genuine connection to the story.”
The makers have released the poster of Bhamini with a caption written, “On the special occasion of Kasturba Gandhi’s birth anniversary, we are honoured to unveil the remarkable Bhamini Oza as she portrays the strength, grace, and resilience of ‘Ba’, a fighter both in life and politics.”
On the other hand, husband Pratik Gandhi couldnot resist himself from sharing this good news as he shared the poster on Instagram and wrote, “Luck can’t be more on my side! As a fellow actor and husband, I have witnessed @bhaminioza ‘s journey from her theatre days till now… my heart is full of gratitude and excitement to share screen space with her in no other character but Kasturba! As much as she awaited my success, I awaited the day when she gets a character of her calibre! And even more delighted as she starts the journey with my magician @hansalmehta and visionary @sameern @applausesocial.”
Filmmaker Hansal Mehta shared his fondness for Bhamini as an actor and said in a statement, “I’ve known Bhamini as a terrific actor – she is formidable on stage. To showcase her playing the character of a lifetime is truly a privilege. Kastur is special and to discover her through Bhamini’s performance is even more special.”
‘Gandhi’ is produced by Applause Entertainment and the series is currently at the filming stage.
