Ranbir Kapoor’s star is on the rise! After the mega-success of his recent film “Animal,” he’s already gearing up for his next big project – Nitesh Tiwari’s “Ramayana.”

This film has been generating major buzz ever since it was announced in 2020, with plans for a trilogy based on the epic Hindu tale. Director Nitesh Tiwari has been working on pre-production for a while, and it seems things are finally moving forward.

According to a lucky fan who met Ranbir Kapoor at the airport, the actor himself confirmed that shooting for “Ramayana” is set to begin in the summer of 2024. The fan even shared tweets about their conversation, revealing that Ranbir discussed details about the film, including the casting of Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana.

It’s going to be a star-studded cast, with Ranbir Kapoor taking on the role of Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi playing Sita, and the KGF star Yash stepping in as the iconic villain Ravana. Nitesh Tiwari and Ravi Udyawar are directing the project, and it’s sure to be a visual spectacle when it hits the big screens.

Initially, Alia Bhatt was considered for the role of Sita, but due to scheduling conflicts, she had to opt out. However, with Sai Pallavi on board, we can expect a nuanced and powerful performance.

The “Ramayana” trilogy is a huge undertaking, and it’s exciting to see the kind of talent that’s being brought together for it. With Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash in the lead roles, and Nitesh Tiwari at the helm, this is definitely a project to watch out for.

So, get ready to be transported to the world of Ramayana in 2024! The wait will be worth it, we’re sure.

Here are some additional details about the project that you might find interesting:

  • The film will be shot in five languages: Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
  • The budget for the trilogy is rumored to be around Rs 1000 crore (approximately $125 million).
  • The first part of the trilogy is expected to focus on the love story of Rama and Sita, while the second and third parts will deal with the war against Ravana and the aftermath.

A report in Pinkvilla earlier reported, “Ranbir and Sai Pallavi will start shooting for the film around the month of February 2024. The first part of the trilogy will focus more on Lord Ram and Sita, leading towards the conflict of Sita Haran. The duo will be shooting for the film from February till August 2024, before calling it a wrap for Ramayana: Part One. Yash has a rather extended appearance in Ramayana: Part One, however, his character will dominate the proceedings in the second part, which is set in Sri Lanka. He has allotted 15 days to shoot for Ramayana: Part One.”

“Nitesh Tiwari and team have been working actively on creating the world of Ramayana and the blueprint is finally all ready. The VFX plates are prepared by the Oscar Winning Company, DNEG and it’s a world that would blow away the minds of audiences. However, the strength of Ramayana won’t be the visual but the simplistic storytelling and compelling inter-character emotions,” it added.

Stay tuned for more updates on “Ramayana” as we get closer to the release date!
