The movie Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna, caused a stir when it came out. Some people thought the movie was too negative, while others made fun of Rashmika’s acting, especially her delivery of a line in a scene about a traditional Indian holiday called Karva Chauth.
After the movie’s release, Rashmika got a lot of criticism online, which is sometimes called “trolling.” People were saying her acting in the Karva Chauth scene was hard to understand. Rashmika recently spoke out about this on a talk show and explained her perspective.
She said she doesn’t like it when people criticize actresses for their looks, but as long as the criticism is about her acting in the movie, she’s okay with it. She also pointed out that she filmed the movie months ago and knows how well she performed in the scene.
“The Karva Chauth scene was really long, like nine minutes,” Rashmika said. “Everyone on set loved it when we filmed it. They were clapping and thought it was really good. But then the trailer came out, and people were making fun of me online for that one line from the scene. It made me wonder if I wasn’t being realistic in my acting. I know what the whole scene is like, but people have only seen a few seconds of it. They don’t understand the context.”
Rashmika said this experience made her realize it’s important to stay connected with the audience and understand their reactions, even if they’re negative.
