Tripti Dimri Talks Candidly About Intimate Scene in Animal

Ever since the release of Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film “Animal,” actress Triptii Dimri has been constantly in the spotlight. Videos of her intimate scenes with co-star Ranbir Kapoor have gone viral on social media, sparking discussions and reactions. In a recent interview with Indian Express, Dimri shed light on the behind-the-scenes process of filming these scenes, revealing that the one involving nudity took place only after extensive discussions.

Dimri shared that Vanga had openly discussed the intimate scene with her during the initial stages of the project, even before filming began. He emphasized that the scene would be filmed “aesthetically” and prioritized her comfort throughout the process. He ensured that only a limited number of people were present on set during the filming to create a safe and secure environment for both actors.

“There were only five people on the set,” Dimri recalled. “Ranbir was also very supportive and kept checking on me every five minutes, asking if I was okay and comfortable.”

Furthermore, Dimri revealed that some close-up shots of the intimate scene were ultimately removed from the final cut of the film. This decision was made collaboratively to ensure that the scene didn’t detract from the overall narrative or compromise the comfort level of the actors.

“We had a lot of discussions about it,” she said. “We didn’t want the scene to feel gratuitous or unnecessary. We wanted it to be integral to the story and serve a purpose.”

Dimri’s comments highlight the growing importance of open communication and respect on film sets, particularly when dealing with sensitive scenes involving nudity or intimacy. Her experience demonstrates how collaborative effort and prioritizing the comfort of actors can lead to a more positive and successful filming experience.

By speaking candidly about the process, Dimri also helps to break down stigmas surrounding such scenes and encourages a more open and honest dialogue about the challenges and considerations involved in portraying them. This ultimately contributes to a more ethical and sensitive approach to filmmaking in the future.

“The day he offered me the film, Sandeep sir had categorically told me, ‘Hey this is the scene I want to shoot; I am looking at it this way. I promise you that it won’t be vulgar, that it will be aesthetically shot. But I have to look for your comfort. So if you are not comfortable, we will think of a different way to do it. But you need to tell me honestly,’” Triptii recalled.

The actress admitted that she took some time before giving a go-ahead for the scene. “When you sign a project, you do with the understanding of what you are getting into. The rape scene in Bulbull was more traumatic, this wasn’t. There I had to leave behind myself to portray that on screen. When you sign a film, you have to make sure you give your 100 percent,” she added.

Triptii further revealed that the entire set was closed down when the scene was shot. Only four people were allowed and monitors were also shut to make her feel comfortable. “When you are made to feel that safe and comfortable, then you feel good. It felt like a safe space, of working with people who respect you and the process. Safe sets are the most important. I was told that the set is closed and if I feel the need to stop, I could say cut as well. That’s what gave me immense confidence as well,” she said.

Triptii Dimri in Animal: A Controversial Role in a Blockbuster Hit

Triptii Dimri has been making headlines since the release of Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s “Animal,” playing the role of Zoya opposite Ranbir Kapoor. The film, which came out on December 1st, explores a complex father-son relationship, with Vijay (Kapoor) as a devoted but troubled son willing to do anything to please his emotionally distant father (Anil Kapoor). This includes a shocking scene where Vijay mows down 200 people with a machine gun to protect his father. Despite his efforts, Vijay’s attempts to gain his father’s approval remain futile, impacting his relationship with his wife (Rashmika Mandanna).

“Animal” has sparked controversy on social media, with accusations of glorifying misogyny and toxic masculinity. However, this hasn’t stopped the film from becoming a box office success, crossing the Rs 400 crore mark at the Indian box office.
