Flight Down: Fighter Crashes at the Box Office

The highly awaited movie Fighter, starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, took off last week with big dreams. Director Siddharth Anand promised high-flying stunts, action-packed aerial sequences, and a story brimming with patriotism. But after an initial jump, the plane has hit turbulence and is headed for a rough landing.

False Start: Despite all the hype, Fighter’s opening day earnings were disappointing, barely reaching Rs. 24 crore. However, there was a glimmer of hope when the second day saw a 67% increase in collections.

Nosedive: Unfortunately, that surge was short-lived. Day three took a steep 33% dive, and even Sunday’s numbers couldn’t save the plummeting flight. Now, on its fifth day, Fighter has completely stalled, managing only a measly Rs. 7 crore.

Crash Landing: Worse yet, this nosedive puts Fighter behind last year’s Adipurush, starring Prabhas. Both films faced similar drops on their first Mondays, but Adipurush started higher, leaving Fighter in the dust.

Fuel Depleted: This crash landing has dashed everyone’s hopes of Fighter touching the Rs. 200 crore mark. Even those who believed in its potential are realizing the plane is going down. Estimates now predict Fighter will barely reach Rs. 160-170 crore before its theatrical journey ends.

Reasons for the crash: Several factors may have contributed to the turbulence. Was the action overhyped? Did the story fail to land with audiences? Was the competition too fierce? Only time will tell, but one thing is clear: Fighter’s flight isn’t going as planned.

The future: What happens next? Will Fighter find its way back up? Or will it remain a cautionary tale of a high-flying movie that nosedived into reality? Only the box office gods know for sure.
