Did you know Allu Arjun wasn’t the first choice for Pushpa Raj? Mahesh Babu, fresh off his collaboration with Pushpa director Sukumar in 1: Nenokkadine, was initially approached for the role. However, creative differences reportedly prompted him to decline. This decision paved the way for Allu Arjun’s phenomenal performance and the film’s subsequent success.

Back in 2019, Mahesh Babu took to X (formerly known as Twitter) and informed that it was due to creative differences that his film with Sukumar was not happening. “Due to creative differences, my film with Sukumar is not happening. I wish him all the best on the announcement of his new project. Respect always for a film maker par exellence. 1 Nenokkadine will remain as a cult classic. Enjoyed every moment working on that film,” the actor wrote.

Pushpa: The Rise, a movie directed by Sukumar, was a big hit and won awards!

• People loved Allu Arjun’s acting as Pushpa Raj, a worker who climbs the ranks of a gang that sells red sandalwood trees.
• The music by Devi Sri Prasad was awesome too, especially songs like “Srivalli”, “Oo Antava”, and “Saami Saami”. He even won a special prize for it!
• Rashmika Mandanna and Fahad Faasil also played important roles in the movie.
• Pushpa made enemies along the way, and there’s even a sequel coming out on India’s Independence Day next year called Pushpa: The Rule!
