A Grand Retelling: Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana Takes Flight

There’s already a buzz about director Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming movie, “Ramayana,” even though it hasn’t been officially announced yet. This grand epic, which started filming recently, is said to be one of the most expensive movies ever made.

The excitement is high because of the star cast itself. Bollywood heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor will be playing Lord Rama, while the talented Sai Pallavi will portray Goddess Sita. But that’s not all! The movie also has Yash, the star of the blockbuster KGF series, playing the role of the mighty Ravana.

Here’s the surprising part: Yash isn’t just acting in this ambitious project; he’s also co-producing it alongside Namit Malhotra.

In an interview with Variety magazine, Yash explained his decision to be a part of “Ramayana.” He’s always wanted to make movies that showcase Indian cinema to the world. While he was in Los Angeles looking for a top-notch visual effects studio for his upcoming film “Toxic,” he met Namit Malhotra, the owner of the studio, and discovered he was Indian as well! They ended up having many discussions about their ideas for Indian cinema, and it turned out they both shared a passion for retelling the Ramayana. Namit had already been working on his own vision for the epic.

“The Ramayana is a story that deeply connects with me,” Yash said. “I’ve always had my own ideas for how to bring it to life on screen. By joining forces with Namit to co-produce this movie, we can combine our visions and experience to create a film that will captivate audiences worldwide.”

Yash went on to say that the Ramayana is a fundamental part of Indian culture. Even though everyone thinks they know the story, every time we experience it, we learn something new. It’s a timeless tale that deserves to be presented on the big screen in a grand and spectacular way. He promised that while the movie will be visually stunning, it will also stay true to the core of the story, its emotions, and the important values it teaches. This is a chance to share the Ramayana with the entire world, showcasing India’s commitment to creative storytelling and bold visions.

Meanwhile, director Nitesh Tiwari has already begun filming this highly-anticipated movie. Reports suggest that Sunny Deol will be playing the role of Hanuman, the devoted monkey god follower of Lord Rama. Filming started in April, and the rest of the cast is expected to join soon.
