By Friday, December 24th, Dunki had crossed the coveted Rs 100 crore mark in India alone. Sacnilk.com reported a nationwide Hindi occupancy of 49.67%, contributing to a total net collection of Rs 74.93 crore. Cities like Kolkata and Delhi led the pack in terms of audience engagement, with occupancy rates reaching 64.50% and 61.50% respectively. Even Mumbai and Chandigarh displayed strong enthusiasm, recording occupancy rates of 60% and 59%, respectively.
While Dunki’s performance was impressive, it couldn’t quite outdo the opening day records of SRK’s earlier 2023 releases, Pathaan and Jawan. Pathaan had a thunderous opening with Rs 57 crore, while Jawan raked in a phenomenal Rs 74.50 crore across all languages in India.
