Munawar Faruqui has been in the news a lot lately. First, he was arrested by the police in Mumbai during a raid, but then he was quickly let go because the charges weren’t serious enough to keep him in jail. Recently, there have been rumors that he might get into politics, but he says that’s not true.
In a video online, someone asked Munawar if political parties had asked him to run in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections (big national elections in India). He just laughed a little and didn’t answer directly. When the person asked again if he wanted to be a politician someday, Munawar said clearly, “No, I’m not interested.”
This all happened not long after Munawar and 14 other people were arrested by the police at a hookah bar in Mumbai. The police got a tip that people were smoking tobacco at the bar even though they were saying it was just herbal stuff. So, they went there and arrested everyone, including Munawar.

There are also rumors that Munawar might be on the next season of another reality show called Khatron Ke Khiladi, which is all about doing stunts. But no one has confirmed this yet, not the people who make the show and not Munawar himself.
