Later, PVR issued a statement and stated, “We have come across some speculative media reports about the film SALAAR and its release at PVR INOX Cinemas. We would like to clarify that these reports are incorrect, SALAAR is one of the most anticipated films of the year and it’s releasing across pan India PVR INOX cinemas on the scheduled release date i.e., 22 December 2023.”

An insider later told TOI, “We have opened national chains after agreeing for equal sharing in North and 70 percent sharing in the South.”

Now, that reports of Dunki’s shows getting replaced with that of Salaar are doing the rounds, fans say it is embarrassing. 

“Imagine doing all that and still losing this is a little embarrassing. They would’ve at least had an excuse had they just let things run it’s course,” a fan commented.

“The film industry is super unpredictable. Till yesterday we had rumours of Salaar not getting enough theatres in the North, and today it’s the opposite,” said another user.
