Border 2: Sunny Deol In Final Discussion, Kesari’s Anurag Singh To Direct; Details Inside

Fans are eagerly awaiting the sequel to the 1997 blockbuster Border, following the immense success of Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel’s Gadar 2. Filmmaker Anurag Singh, known for his work on Kesari and Punjab 1984, is reportedly in talks to helm the much-anticipated sequel.

Anurag Singh’s expertise in handling period war dramas and hard-hitting subjects makes him an ideal choice for Border 2. His ability to sensitively portray political scenarios and mount large-scale productions has impressed the film’s producers.

“Anurag Singh’s name has been verbally agreed upon, and the paperwork will be finalized soon,” a source revealed. The producers are committed to making Border 2 the biggest war film ever produced in India, and they are assembling a team of top-notch technicians from across the country.

Sankalp Reddy of Gaazi Attack and Om Raut of Tanhaji were also considered for the directorial role before the producers settled on Anurag Singh.

The report confirms that Border 2 will also be based on a true story, and the script is currently in the final stages of writing. “There was a version that was created earlier by the in-house team of JP Dutta, but with Anurag on board, he is rewriting the subject with his approach. Ayushmann had heard the earlier version and was on board, but now, he will also decide once he hears the quality of his role in the final draft,” the source concluded.

Currently, Sunny Deol is engaged in negotiations with the producers regarding his remuneration for the project.
