Director Sudipto Sen just released his new movie “Bastar: The Naxal Story,” following his hit film “The Kerala Story.” The movie is a crime drama starring Adah Sharma and came out on March 15th.

“Bastar” looks at the complex issue of Naxalism in India. It tries to show where it came from and how it affects people’s lives, but some people say it’s too simplistic. The story is set in a place called Bastar, which is now part of the state of Chhattisgarh, and goes back to a rebellion that started in 1910.

People have different opinions about the movie. Some like it, while others find it too violent and upsetting.

Shortly following the film’s theatrical debut, early viewers and movie enthusiasts shared their reviews on social media. A user said, “#BastarTheNaxalStory.. The great movie.loved it. 5of 5 stars.#Bastarreviews.” Another added, “#BastarTheNaxalStory review: DISASTER Politically motivated fictional story which has nothing to do with the reality. Cringe dialogues, overacting, bad editing, slow screenplay and various factors will affect the film badly.” Third commented, “#BastarFilm is a Brutal & Blunt Film which will leave an unforgettable impact on the audience ruthless action sequences, Heroics of #AdahSharma & Compelling supporting casts adds value to the film. The climax and bgm could have been better.”

A user added, “Hats off to the makers of #TheKeralaStory who once again brought the unspoken stories into the limelight.. #BastarTheNaxalStory is hard hitting movie narrating real life incidents which otherwise never see public light.. Once again makers did daring by picking up bold subject of naIaxs n how they operate n how the made life miserable of people living in bastar.. Direction of @sudiptoSENtlm needs mention here as I felt he has done top notch work.. @adah_sharma as Neeraja has done a terrific job… Her intense emotions, especially during the climax n meeting with home minister, literally gives goosebumps.. Also acting by #indiratiwari was excellent n her display of character emotions was superb.. Such movies are eye openor.”

About Bastar: The Naxal Story

The film delves deep into this narrative, shedding light on the clandestine yet perilous activities of a group responsible for the brutal massacre of 76 CRPF jawans. Despite such horrific tragedies, these events are often shrouded in silence, obscuring them from public awareness.

Directed by Sudipto Sen, the film explores the contrasting journeys of a mother and son, portrayed by Indira Tiwari and Naman Jain, following a shared personal tragedy. It also delves into a Supreme Court case shedding light solely on the connection between Naxalism and communism.
