Dunki’s Box Office Story: A Good Run So Far, But Challenges Ahead

Shah Rukh Khan’s new movie, Dunki, directed by the famous Rajkumar Hirani, is doing well at the box office, even though critics had mixed opinions. While it didn’t break opening day records, its collections have steadily increased, especially on weekends, showing families are enjoying the film.

On Christmas Day, however, Dunki didn’t reach the same heights as Sunday. It’s expected to earn around 22-24 crores, slightly less than Sunday’s 30.70 crores. This drop is understandable as weekdays bring back the “Monday curse” with lower attendance. Despite this dip, Dunki has already reached its reported budget of 120 crores, making it a safe investment.

The real test starts tomorrow, Tuesday, when the holiday weekend ends. Ideally, Dunki should earn at least 10 crores, and 12 crores or more would be a great weekday achievement. If it manages to hold steady until Friday, a weekend bump is expected again. Reaching the 200-crore club seems likely at this point.

So, while Dunki is doing well, it still faces challenges in the coming days. Can it maintain its momentum beyond the holiday buzz and attract audiences during weekdays? We’ll have to wait and see, but the initial response is positive, especially from families.
