Prithviraj Sukumaran started acting in movies in the year 2002. His first film was “Nandanam” directed by Ranjith. He became well-known for his acting in many movies including “Classmates” (2006), “Mumbai Police” (2013), “Ennu Ninte Moideen” (2015), and “Lucifer” (2019). He is currently acting in a movie called “Aadujeevitham” and recently talked about the idea of nepotism in the film industry. Nepotism means when someone gets a job or advantage because of a relative who already has that job or advantage. In this case, it means children of famous actors getting film roles more easily.

Prithviraj admitted that he had advantages because of his family. His father, Sukumaran, his mother, Mallika Sukumaran, his brother, Indrajith Sukumaran, and his sister-in-law, Poornima Indrajith, are all actors. Prithviraj said in an interview with Mashable India, “In Kerala, everyone lives close together, and we are all definitely children of famous actors. It was easier for me to enter the film industry. I only got my first movie because of my last name. Someone thought I would be a good lead actor just because I was their son. I didn’t even have to audition! I completely owe my first film to my family name and nothing else.”

He then went on to say, “But I only got my first movie because of my family name. In movies, it doesn’t matter whose child you are in the long run. The audience decides if you’re good or not every Friday. If you’re not good enough, that’s it. There’s no protection. Nobody can save you from the audience’s judgment. You have to face them. But yes, to repeat myself, it was definitely easier for me to get started because of my family.”

Prithviraj is known for being a talented actor who can play many different kinds of roles. He has won many awards for his acting, and his movie “Aadujeevitham” has been praised by critics. The movie is based on a book by Benyamin and directed by Blessy. Prithviraj will also be acting in a movie coming out soon with Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff called “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.”
