Being a childhood fan of SRK, I regretted missing out on the opportunity to watch SRK’s superhit blockbuster, “Jawan,” on the big screen. However, when “Jawan” unexpectedly made its Netflix debut on SRK’s birthday, I couldn’t contain my excitement. What could have been a better way to kick off a weekend? Little did I know just how wrong my assumptions would turn out to be? Given the buzz it generated during its release, I felt it might be one of the best movies in SRK’s career. Sadly, it fell far short of the cinematic brilliance of SRK’s previous classics like “Swades” and “Chak De India.”

From countless blunders and loopholes to horrible screenplay and lackluster performances, here are the reasons why Shah Rukh Khan’s “Jawan” was a colossal letdown.

Countless Loopholes

One of the most significant letdowns in the movie was the abundance of loopholes. There were numerous baffling moments throughout the film. For instance, the nurse merely checks Deepika Padukone’s pulse and declares her pregnant. Furthermore, Nayanthara’s character dressed more like a college student than a high-ranking cop, which made no sense.

The fact that the kidnappers in the metro weren’t wearing masks, and the police failed to gather sketches or access metro cameras, was just plain ridiculous. The portrayal of train passengers as gullible and naive was also hard to swallow. The way the government negotiates with people who have no respect for the law reveals how the makers have carelessly handled the entire plot. Allowing the man who was blackmailing the government to go live and broadcast on national television is just one example of many blunders in the film. This is certainly not what we expected from an SRK movie!

Horrible Screenplay

It felt like the makers were uncertain about the film’s genre, wavering between action-thriller, romantic drama, and comedy. The movie had too many parallel storylines that ended up diluting the impact of each. Excessive flashbacks made the screenplay feel disjointed, switching between slow and rushed pacing, making it difficult to connect with any character. The editing was subpar, and the film’s social messaging came across as preachy.
