EXCLUSIVE: Tiger 3 star Emraan Hashmi reveals the reason behind him ‘distancing’ himself from social media; says, “People constantly play acting, and lose a sense of who you are”

So, when we got an opportunity to speak to him during Tiger 3 promotions, it was an opportunity worth seizing. So, Bollywood Hungama caught up with the actor and asked him about staying aloof from events and also clearly maintaining a distance on social media. In this candid interview, not only did Emraan speak about playing the anti-hero in the Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif starrer, but also about the reason he likes to stay away from the glitz and glam.

In this interaction, Emraan Hashmi confessed that he is not a person who seeks validation on social media. “I’ve been like this for the past few years. It’s weird people might criticize it or may find it bizarre in this world that you need validation constantly. But I honestly don’t need it. And I don’t want it. I believe that my work speaks for itself. I’m there 100% when a film is being promoted, and I give it everything when playing characters, but it’s very important to distance myself from that to another world that is not this. It’s very important to do this, otherwise you can very easily get lost in this world,” Hashmi told Bollywood Hungama.
He went on to explain that it’s easy to lose a sense of self in such situations. “People constantly play acting, and then, you don’t know who they are. I think you lose a sense of who you are, when you’re constantly playing up to this. It is quite tiring to constantly look and seem like, you’re interesting. And you have to be that way! If it works for you it’s great but I’m not that guy. I like to move out and probably you know, step in when it’s important for a film and stuff,” the Tiger 3 star maintained.
