Sriram Raghavan is known for making suspenseful crime movies that leave audiences confused at the end. His latest film, Merry Christmas, stars Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi and is no different.

The movie’s first half is a bit slow, but the second half is full of surprises. Some viewers thought the ending was easy to guess, while others were shocked.

The story revolves around a murder. The movie ends with a man named Albert (played by Vijay Sethupathi) sitting calmly in a police station. Did he kill Jerome, or was Jerome killed by his wife, Maria (played by Katrina Kaif)?

Earlier, Albert told Maria he once killed his girlfriend and doesn’t want to be involved in another crime. However, he gets caught up in the investigation anyway.

When the police leave Maria’s apartment, she goes to a hidden second apartment that looks exactly like the first one. There, she confesses to Albert that she killed Jerome. She explains she created this fake apartment to trick the police into thinking someone else did it.

At first, Albert doesn’t want to help Maria. But he ends up assisting her in getting rid of evidence from the fake apartment. While doing this, he finds a wallet belonging to another man named Ronnie Fernandes (played by Sanjay Kapoor). Albert decides to return the wallet to the police.

The next day, the police believe Jerome committed suicide based on the evidence they find. However, things change when Ronnie tells them his wallet is missing. The police now suspect the person who took the wallet might be the killer.

Albert is on his way to return the wallet when the police call him in for questioning. He tells them the same story as Ronnie about finding the wallet. He also leaves a special origami swan on the table for Maria, letting her know he has talked to the police.

The police are confused because all three stories (Maria’s, Ronnie’s, and Albert’s) seem true. They decide to close the case as a suicide.

Just as the police are about to leave, Maria’s daughter, Annie, accidentally reveals that Albert gave her back a toy she forgot. This hints that Maria might be the real killer.

At this point, Albert gives the police Ronnie’s wallet, suggesting he is the murderer. He then proposes to Maria, right there in the police station! Maria accepts, and Albert takes the blame for Jerome’s death, leaving everyone surprised.
