The long-awaited movie, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, finally came out today, April 11th. There had been a lot of talk about this movie because it has famous actors Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, and a catchy title. The title sounds similar to a funny movie from 1998 that starred Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda. This new Bade Miyan Chote Miyan isn’t a remake of the old one, and it’s a completely different kind of movie. But the new movie still pays a kind of respect to the older one, directed by David Dhawan.

The new Bade Miyan Chote Miyan movie, starring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, includes a nice reference to the 1998 movie of the same name, starring Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda.

There’s a part in the first half of the movie where Firoz (also called Freddy, played by Akshay Kumar) and Rakesh (also called Rocky, played by Tiger Shroff) are about to go on a dangerous mission. They need a cool name for their mission. To decide, they check what movie is on TV. It turns out that Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is playing on a channel, and they think that name is perfect for their mission.

That’s not the only reference! In the movie, there’s also a scene where some characters are watching the 1998 movie with Govinda and Amitabh Bachchan. You can even see the title song and a funny line from the movie playing on the TV screen. This adds a nice detail to the new movie.

The 1998 movie also had Raveena Tandon, Ramya Krishnan, Anupam Kher, Paresh Rawal, and even Madhuri Dixit in a short appearance. It’s a story about two police officers who are also best friends. They get into trouble because they have lookalikes who are criminals, and those criminals cause a lot of problems. The movie came out during Diwali that year, and even though it came out at the same time as another very successful movie called Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, it was still a big hit. Songs like “Kisi Disco Mein Jaaye” and “Makhna” are still popular today.

The new Bade Miyan Chote Miyan movie also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, Manushi Chhillar, Alaya F, and Sonakshi Sinha. It’s a story about two patriotic officers who face a challenge from a villain who wears a mask and wants to destroy India. The movie was directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. Interestingly, both the old and new movies were made by Vashu Bhagnani’s company, Pooja Entertainment.
