Mrunal Thakur’s Telugu Film Journey: From Stumbles to Success

Mrunal Thakur, a popular actress you might know from Hindi TV shows and movies like “Love Sonia” and “Super 30,” recently talked about her tough beginnings in Telugu films. In an interview, she revealed she almost quit acting in Telugu movies altogether after her first Telugu film, “Sita Ramam.”

The main reason for Mrunal’s struggle? Language! Telugu is a different language than Hindi and Marathi, which Mrunal speaks more comfortably. This difference made things difficult, especially when she had to record her voice (dubbing) and move her lips in sync with the Telugu dialogues (lip-syncing). Mrunal even said she felt limited by the language barrier. Despite trying hard to learn and adjust, there were times when she felt discouraged and considered giving up.

Things changed for the better with “Sita Ramam,” her first Telugu movie released in 2022. Mrunal remembers talking to her co-star in the film, Dulquer Salmaan, and telling him she wasn’t sure about doing more Telugu films. But Dulquer, a kind and supportive actor, encouraged her to keep going. Thanks to him, Mrunal gained the confidence to explore acting in other South Indian languages like Tamil and Kannada.

Mrunal’s hard work paid off. After the success of “Sita Ramam,” she went on to star in another hit Telugu movie, “Hi Nanna,” alongside actor Nani in 2023. Her upcoming Telugu film, “Family Star,” is all set to release on April 5th. She’ll be sharing the screen with Vijay Deverakonda in this movie, directed by Parasuram Petla. While there’s no news on her next Telugu projects yet, Mrunal also has a Hindi film, “Pooja Meri Jaan,” coming up.

Mrunal Thakur’s journey in Telugu cinema shows that even with challenges, hard work and passion can lead to success. Despite the initial difficulties with the language, her determination has helped her overcome obstacles and become a well-respected actress in the Telugu film industry.
