This Anonymous Letter that Triggered Gurmeet Ram Rahim’s Conviction Leading To 20 Years Of Imprisonment

The verdict sentencing Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh to 20 years of imprisonment spread like wildfire and so did the accused’s hooligans and blind followers, in the literal sense. Though the self-styled baba who suffixes “Insaan” to his already mammoth name failed to enlighten the minds of his gullible followers, he sure did turn them into destructive insaan who didn’t hesitate to light up parts of Haryana, Chandigarh, and Punjab demonstrating revolt against their dearest Godman.

Now that the impersonator is behind the bars and hopefully won’t be seen in the open for the next 20 years, we must thank, appreciate, and applaud the brave hearts who dared to throw light on his transgressions and save the innocent souls who could have become a prey to this Insaan’s voracious appetite for sex. An anonymous letter written by a former sandhwi of Dera triggered Gurmeet Ram Rahim’s conviction that finally landed him in jail after following 200 odd hearings and 15 years of probe.

Narrated by a former Dera sadhwi, this three page typed letter in Hindi (in pics) discloses the ordeal of this anon and other sadhwis in Dera who were raped and sexually exploited at the hands of the Dera chief. Written in 2002, this letter was addressed to the then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Union Home Ministry, Punjab and Haryana chief ministers, the CBI, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), and the Punjab and Haryana High Court besides media houses seeking intervention and action against the perpetrator.
