Stree 2: Shraddha Kapoor-Rajkummar Rao spotted at Mumbai Airport as they jet off to shoot for horror comedy
Bollywood stars Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao were spotted at the Mumbai airport on Saturday as they headed off to Madhya Pradesh to shoot for the sequel to their hit horror-comedy film Stree.
Kapoor looked stylish in a white-printed kurta set, while Rao opted for a more casual look in a black tee and loose track pants. Both actors were all smiles as they made their way through the airport.
The sequel to Stree, titled Stree 2, is set to begin shooting in Chanderi, Madhya Pradesh. The film’s makers announced in July that they had begun shooting for the film, and they also shared a video unveiling the theme of the sequel.
Stree, which was released in 2018, was a critical and commercial success. The film tells the story of a group of men in a small town who are haunted by a female ghost. Kapoor and Rao played the lead roles in the film.
Fans of the original Stree are eagerly awaiting the release of the sequel. With Kapoor and Rao reprising their roles, Stree 2 is sure to be another hit.

On July 11, actor Rajkummar Rao took to social media to announce the start of filming for the sequel to the 2018 horror-comedy Stree. The video, shared with the caption “Ek baar phir चंदेरी में फैला Aatank! स्त्री २ filming begins! Aa rahi hai woh- August 2024!”, opens with a shot of a quiet lane in the town of Chanderi. The scene then shifts to a wall where the message ‘O stree kal aana (Stree, come tomorrow)’, which was a recurring phrase in the original film, is being replaced with ‘O stree raksha karna (Stree, please protect us)’. The video concludes with the tagline ‘sarkate ka aatank’ (terror of the headless man), hinting at the theme of the sequel.
Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree 2 is produced by Jio Studios and Dinesh Vijan Maddock Films. The film will see Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor reprise their roles from the original Stree, while Aparshakti Khurrana, Abhishek Banerjee, and Pankaj Tripathi will join the cast. The sequel is scheduled for release in August 2024.
