Bollywood Busts: Big Paychecks for Big Flops

The world of Bollywood is full of surprises! Sometimes, even movies with the biggest stars can flop at the box office, leaving everyone scratching their heads. But here’s what’s even more surprising: some actors get paid huge amounts of money for starring in these flops!

Let’s take a look at a few examples of Bollywood actors who walked away with massive paychecks, even though their movies ended up being big disasters.

Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff in “Bade Miyan Chotte Miyan”

This movie, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, was a major disappointment. Despite having two big action stars like Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, it only managed to earn about ₹49 crore in India. That’s not even half of what Akshay Kumar was reportedly paid for the film – a whopping ₹165 crore! Tiger Shroff also took home a hefty paycheck, somewhere between ₹40 crore and ₹45 crore.

Kangana Ranaut in “Dhaakad” and “Tejas”

Kangana Ranaut is known for being a talented actress, but her recent movies haven’t been box office hits. Reports say she charged around ₹10 crore for “Dhaakad” and ₹12 crore for “Tejas.” Unfortunately, “Dhaakad” only made a measly ₹3.77 crore, and “Tejas” didn’t fare much better with ₹5.6 crore.

Hrithik Roshan in “Vikram Vedha”

Hrithik Roshan’s comeback movie “Vikram Vedha” wasn’t a complete disaster, but it didn’t set the box office on fire either. While the movie collected around ₹78 crore in India, reports say Hrithik Roshan took home a cool ₹50 crore for his role!

Prabhas in “Adipurush”

This movie caused a stir even before its release, but for all the wrong reasons. Despite the controversy, “Adipurush” did manage to earn some money worldwide (around ₹179 crore). However, the big question is: was it worth it for Prabhas to be paid a reported ₹150 crore for the role?

Are these paychecks justified?

It’s no wonder these numbers leave us scratching our heads. How can actors be paid so much for movies that flop? There are a few reasons for this. First, big stars can bring in a lot of attention to a movie, even if it doesn’t end up being good. Second, some actors have a reputation that makes producers think they can guarantee a hit, even if it’s not always true.
