Shaitaan Box Office Day 2: Ajay Devgn’s Horror Film Earns Rs 18.5 Crore On Saturday, Yet Trails Behind Drishyam 2
March 10, 2024Ajay Devgn’s new movie, Shaitaan, is doing well! It made more money on its second day in theaters than it did on opening day. Early estimates show the movie brought in 18.5 crore rupees (about $2.2 million) on Saturday in India. This brings its total earnings to over 33 crore rupees (about $4 million) so far.
Lots of people went to see Shaitaan on Saturday. About a third of the seats in movie theaters were filled. The movie played the most times in the National Capital Region (NCR), a big city area in India. Here, about a third of the seats were filled too. Maharashtra, another state in India, also had a good turnout, with over 40% of seats filled.
Shaitaan opened in theaters on Friday and made 14.75 crore rupees (about $1.7 million). This strong performance on Saturday suggests the movie will continue to do well this weekend. Everyone is curious to see how much money it makes on Sunday.
Shaitaan is a remake of a Gujarati horror movie. The original movie, called Vash, came out in 2023. Vikas Bahl directed the Hindi version of the movie. It’s a supernatural thriller that involves black magic.
Shaitaan might be the top movie until March 15th. Then, a new movie called Yodha, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Disha Patani, will come out and compete with it. Ajay Devgn’s last movie, Bholaa, made 11 crore rupees (about $1.3 million) on opening day and ended up making a total of 90 crore rupees (about $10.7 million). Before that, his movie Drishyam 2 was a big hit. Shaitaan made about the same amount on opening day as Drishyam 2, but it made a little less on the second day (Drishyam 2 made 21.59 crore rupees).
