Dunki Box Office Day 8: Shah Rukh Khan’s Film Earns Below 10 Crores But Still Racing For A Double Century!

Shah Rukh Khan’s latest film, Dunki, directed by the acclaimed Rajkumar Hirani, has had a mixed reception at the box office. While initial reviews weren’t all praises, the film has still managed to draw audiences and is steadily approaching the 200 crore mark in India.
Dunki faces strong competition from Prabhas’ action thriller, Salaar, which released a day later. Even though their genres are different, fan wars online have been intense. Salaar took the lead in advance bookings, dominating the early ticket sales.
Despite facing tough competition, Dunki maintained a good pace after its opening weekend. Even during regular workdays, it managed to stay above the 10 crore mark, thanks to strong evening and night shows. However, today, for the first time, the daily collection is expected to dip below 10 crores.
Early estimates suggest Dunki will earn around 8.30-9.30 crores on its 8th day, slightly lower than yesterday’s 10.50 crores. The total Indian box office collection after 8 days stands at about 160-161 crores. Whether it enters the 200-crore club during its second weekend remains to be seen.

On a global scale, Dunki has been a success. With a budget of 120 crores, it has already crossed the 300 crore mark worldwide in just 7 days. This marks Shah Rukh Khan’s third box office hit this year, following the massive success of Pathaan and Jawan. Dunki has even surpassed the global collections of big films like Dabangg 2, Race 3, and 2.0 (Hindi).
While Dunki may not reach the level of Pathaan or Jawan, it is still proving to be a commercially successful film. Its genre, a dramedy, might limit its box office potential compared to action thrillers like Salaar, but it’s on track to achieve a significant milestone – crossing the 200 crore mark in India.
