“Devara” Box Office: Strong Start, But Can it Maintain Momentum?

Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor’s Telugu action film “Devara: Part 1” exploded onto the scene with a massive opening weekend. Directed by Koratala Siva, the film raked in over ₹80 crore in India on its first day, crossing the ₹100 crore mark worldwide.

However, after a record-breaking start, the film’s box office numbers have seen a gradual decline. While it quickly entered the ₹200 crore club, collections dipped over the weekend and further on Monday.

Box Office Breakdown:

• Day 1: ₹82.5 crore (India)
• Day 2: ₹38.2 crore (India)
• Day 3: ₹39.9 crore (India)
• Day 4: ₹12.5 crore (India)

As of Day 4, “Devara” has amassed a total of ₹173.1 crore in India. The Telugu version leads with ₹136.5 crore, followed by Hindi at ₹31 crore.

Set in a coastal region after India’s independence, “Devara: Part 1” tells the story of a man (Jr NTR in a dual role) who protects his village from evil forces. The film is packed with action, intrigue, and power struggles, with Saif Ali Khan playing the antagonist.

Challenges Ahead:

Despite its strong opening, “Devara” faces the challenge of maintaining momentum at the box office. The significant drop in collections on Monday raises questions about its long-term performance. It remains to be seen whether the film can sustain its initial success and reach the coveted ₹300 crore milestone.
