Animal: Tripti Dimri Opens Up On ‘Lick My Shoe’ Scene, Says ‘I Won’t Lick Someone’s Shoe But…’

Triptii Dimri has been generating significant buzz since the release of “Animal.” While her performance has garnered widespread praise, her intimate scenes with Ranbir Kapoor have also sparked online discussions. However, a specific scene has drawn criticism from some social media users. In the second half of the film, Ranbir’s character, Vijay, demands that Zoya (played by Dimri) lick his shoe as a sign of her love. Although Zoya initially complies, Vijay ultimately stops her. In a recent interview, Dimri clarified that while her character appears ready to perform the action, she personally would not do so in real life.

Speaking with Pinkvilla, Triptii said, “I as tripti won’t go and lick someone’s shoe if someone asks me I would be very offended but for Zoya maybe she felt like doing it because zoya is not tripti and she has her own reasons to do it.”

“Sometimes, there is good, bad, ugly in all of us, we have a dark side and sometimes we react out of that and that only happens when something major has happened in life and its the experiences that we have growing up that shapes us as a person. Sometimes you go too dark, sometimes you’re not right? You’re only playing in the middle somewhere and that similar way you have to hunmanize your character a well,” she added.

This is not the first time that Tripti has spoken about the scene. In an interaction with The Indian Express, Tripti said, “It reminded me of what my acting coach had told me, the golden rule: Never judge your character. The characters you are playing, the character your co-actor is playing, all are human and humans have good and bad side. An actor must be prepared to play characters across the spectrum of good, bad and ugly, but if you judge a character’s motivations, thoughts, you won’t be able to play it with honesty. So that’s what I kept in mind.”
