Nani initially thought Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan was a Gang Leader remake; ‘After watching it, I realized it wasn’t…’

In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, Natural Star Nani shared his thoughts on which of his films could potentially be remade in Bollywood. He stated that Hi Nanna, despite its popularity, wouldn’t be a good choice for a remake.

However, he suggested that films like Nenu Local and Gang Leader would be excellent options for a Hindi remake. He even drew a comparison between the trailer of Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan and Gang Leader due to the presence of multiple female characters.

Nani also addressed the possibility of Gang Leader becoming a franchise but revealed that no discussions have taken place yet. He acknowledged the film’s growing popularity over time, especially due to its endearing characters.

When asked about other films that could be remade, the audience suggested Ante Sundaraniki. Nani further added that Shyam Singha Roy, Pilla Zamindar, and Ashta Chamma (an adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest) would also be good choices.

Nani’s next project is the vigilante movie Saripodhaa Sanivaaram, directed by Vivek Athreya, scheduled for release on August 29, 2024.
