Mukesh Khanna, famous for playing Bhishma in the Mahabharata TV show, criticized the makers of the movie Kalki 2898 AD. He pointed out a mistake in the movie where it shows Lord Krishna taking a gem from Ashwatthama’s forehead and promising Ashwatthama will be his savior in the future. Mukesh Khanna explained this is incorrect, as it was actually Draupadi, not Krishna, who ordered the removal of Ashwatthama’s gem after he killed her five children.

Mukesh Khanna expressed his frustration on his YouTube channel, questioning how the movie makers could change the original story written by Vyas muni, the author of Mahabharata. He emphasized that Krishna, being all-powerful, wouldn’t need protection from someone like Ashwatthama. He felt the filmmakers took too much creative liberty and disrespected the traditional story.

Disappointed by the changes made to the mythology, Mukesh Khanna called on the government to form a committee to oversee movies based on religious texts like the Ramayana and the Gita. He suggested the committee should have the power to control the movie scripts if necessary, ensuring they stay true to the original stories and traditions.

The movie Kalki 2898 AD, directed by Nag Ashwin, was released on June 27th and features a star-studded cast including Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, Disha Patani, Saswata Chatterjee, and Keerthy Suresh.
