Mahesh Babu REVEALS What Happened When He Smoked ‘Beedi’ In Guntur Kaaram: ‘I Got Migraine…’

Mahesh Babu Ditches Tobacco for Clove Leaves in Guntur Kaaram

Mahesh Babu is basking in the glow of his latest film, Guntur Kaaram, but one scene had him seeing stars (literally!). In a recent interview, the actor revealed that the smoking scene originally called for a real cigarette, which wasn’t exactly his cup of tea (or more aptly, beedi).

Turns out, our clean-living Mahesh doesn’t smoke and the real beedi gave him a nasty migraine. Not wanting to compromise his health or promote smoking, he spoke to director Trivikram Srinivas. The director, ever the resourceful filmmaker, found a clever solution – an ayurvedic beedi made with clove leaves!

“I told Trivikram about the migraine, and he got me this special beedi,” Mahesh explained. “It was like smoking cloves with a hint of mint – no tobacco at all! I was happy because I could do the scene without hurting myself or encouraging smoking.”

Guntur Kaaram, released on January 12th, received mixed reviews, but the audience clearly voted with their wallets. The film, co-starring Sreeleela, crossed a whopping Rs 80 crore in India and Rs 160 crore worldwide, proving that Mahesh Babu’s star power is undimmed.

And the good news doesn’t stop there! Mahesh’s next project is a collaboration with the legendary director SS Rajamouli. Titled SSMB29, this epic adventure thriller set in Africa will be Rajamouli’s follow-up to the global phenomenon RRR.

Rumor has it that Bollywood beauty Deepika Padukone is being considered for the lead role, and the film promises to be a high-tech spectacle on a pan-India scale. Buckle up, folks, Mahesh Babu’s next outing is sure to be a wild ride!

In short:

  • Mahesh Babu enjoys Guntur Kaaram’s success, but not real cigarettes.
  • Smoking scene uses clove beedi instead to protect his health and avoid promoting smoking.
  • Guntur Kaaram performs well at the box office, crossing Rs 160 crore worldwide.
