On a cold December morning, the limbs of a young man were found by chance in Loch Lomond, by police divers on a routine training exercise. Eight days later another bag – containing a head – is found washed up 60 miles away on Barassie Beach, Ayrshire. In the days that followed, detectives revealed that the remains were those of a much-loved, young man, Barry Wallace, who lived in Kilmarnock some 50 miles away from the Loch. An international man hunt got underway for the prime suspect: William Beggs. But as the police closed in on the killer, the investigation took an unexpected turn following a series of shocking revelations about his past.
