Kantara Director Rishab Shetty Criticizes Bollywood’s Portrayal of India

Rishab Shetty Calls Out Bollywood

Rishab Shetty, the actor and director of the hit movie “Kantara,” is making headlines again. He recently won a big award for “Kantara,” and he’s been busy promoting a new Kannada film. But he’s also been talking about something else: how Bollywood movies sometimes show India in a negative way at international film festivals.

He said he’s proud of his country, state, and language, and he wants to show the positive side of India to the world. That’s what he tries to do in his own movies.

About “Kantara”

“Kantara” is an action-thriller movie that Rishab Shetty wrote, directed, and starred in. It’s about a fight between a champion of a traditional sport and a forest officer. The movie was very popular and even won an award at an international film festival.

Shetty also mentioned that it’s hard for Kannada movies (movies made in the Kannada language) to get noticed on streaming platforms. They often don’t get much attention and sometimes end up on YouTube or at film festivals instead.

What’s Next for Rishab Shetty?

Rishab Shetty is currently working on “Kantara 2,” which is actually a prequel to the first movie. It’s called “Kantara: Chapter 1” and will star Jisshu Sengupta. They’ll start filming the next part of the movie at the end of August.
