• Ranveer Singh was the initial choice for both Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s movie Animal and Meghna Gulzar’s directorial Sam Bahadur.

Reasons for rejecting Sam Bahadur

• Ranveer Singh was already portraying Kapil Dev in 83 during that time and was hesitant to take on another biopic.
• He also had Karan Johar’s Takht lined up.

About Sam Bahadur

• Sam Bahadur is a biopic based on the life of India’s first Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw.
• His military career spanned over four decades and five wars.
• He was the first Indian Army officer to be promoted to the rank of Field Marshal and led the victory in the 1971 Indo-Pak war, resulting in the creation of Bangladesh.
• Vicky Kaushal expressed his honor in playing the role of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw.

Reasons for rejecting Animal

• Ranveer Singh reportedly found the movie too dark and violent, leading him to decline the offer.
• This is not the first time Ranbir Kapoor has replaced Ranveer Singh. Ranveer was allegedly replaced in Bombay Velvet without prior notice.
