Nagarjuna To File Another Rs 100 Crore Defamation Case Against Konda Surekha, Says ‘Not A Word Of Apology To…’
Nagarjuna Rejects Konda Surekha’s Apology, Seeks Rs 100 Crore Defamation Suit
Nagarjuna Akkineni has rejected the apology issued by Telangana minister Konda Surekha and is pursuing a new defamation lawsuit against her, seeking Rs 100 crore. This follows Surekha’s controversial claims that the divorce between Nagarjuna’s son, Naga Chaitanya, and Samantha Ruth Prabhu was due to the interference of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KTR.
On October 3, Nagarjuna submitted a private complaint to a local court, condemning Surekha’s remarks, which have sparked significant backlash. In an interview with Times Now, Nagarjuna expressed his anger and frustration, stating that Surekha’s comments cannot be allowed to slide under the crack.
When asked if an apology from the minister would result in the withdrawal of his lawsuit, Nagarjuna clarified that the matter has escalated beyond personal concerns and affects his family as well. He asserted that using their names for political gain is unacceptable and that the entertainment industry will no longer be soft targets.
Konda Surekha had previously alleged that KTR demanded Samantha’s presence in exchange for sparing Nagarjuna Akkineni’s N-Convention Centre from demolition. She claimed that Samantha’s refusal led to her separation from Naga Chaitanya. In response, KTR issued a legal notice for Surekha to retract her statement. While she has since withdrawn her remarks, the controversy has sparked significant unrest within the film industry.
Nagarjuna’s decision to pursue a defamation lawsuit against Konda Surekha sends a strong message to politicians who attempt to use celebrities’ names for political gain. It highlights the importance of holding individuals accountable for their defamatory statements and protecting the privacy and reputation of public figures.
