Kpop Wave Dominates: BTS Jimin, Stray Kids, ENHYPEN, NCT 127 Rule Billboard’s World Albums Chart
K-pop Music Is Ruling the Charts!
The Billboard charts for the week ending August 3, 2024, are full of exciting news for K-pop fans.
BTS member Jimin is doing incredibly well as a solo artist. His new album, MUSE, started off at number 2 on both the World Albums chart and the Billboard 200 chart. This makes Jimin the first solo artist from Korea to have more than one album reach the top 3 of the Billboard 200, a very impressive achievement.
Another K-pop group, Stray Kids, also had a fantastic week. Their newest mini-album, ATE, went straight to number 1 on the World Albums chart and the Billboard 200 chart. This is a big deal because it makes Stray Kids the first group ever to have their first five albums all start at number 1 on the Billboard 200. Only one other musician has done this before, showing how special Stray Kids’ accomplishment is.
Stray Kids is also doing well on other charts. They’re at the top of six different Billboard charts this week, including the Artist 100 chart and the World Digital Song Sales chart. This proves that they are a very popular and successful group.
Another K-pop group, ENHYPEN, is continuing to do well with their album ROMANCE: UNTOLD. It’s at number 3 on the World Albums chart in its second week and is still doing well on the Billboard 200 chart, holding the 21st spot.
All of this shows how K-pop music is becoming more and more popular around the world and is making a big impact on the music industry.
