Kamal Haasan starrer Indian 2 gets U/A certificate with runtime of 3 hours 4 seconds; CBFC asks 5 minor changes including altering the phrase “Dirty Indian”

Kamal Haasan’s much-anticipated follow-up to the Tamil hit movie ‘Indian’ is finally coming to cinemas on July 12, 2024. Called ‘Indian 2,’ the film has been rated U/A by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), meaning it’s okay for most audiences with some minor changes.

‘Indian 2’ sees the return of the hero Senapathy, played by the famous Kamal Haasan. The original 1996 movie is a classic in Tamil cinema, so the sequel has fans very excited. Directed by Shankar, known for his big, impressive films, ‘Indian 2’ promises to be an exciting continuation.

However, the CBFC has suggested a few tweaks. These mostly involve removing swear words and changing some phrases that could be sensitive. For example, the words “Dirty Indian” will be changed. Also, a scene with the words “Bribe market” will be adjusted. The movie is quite long, three hours and four seconds, typical of Shankar’s style.

Kamal Haasan leads a strong cast in ‘Indian 2,’ including Siddharth, SJ Suryah, Rakul Preet Singh, Nedumudi Venu, Vivekh, Bobby Simha, and Priya Bhavani Shankar.
