Indian 2 Worldwide Box Office: Kamal Haasan-Starrer Tamil Movie Turns Out To Be Disaster In Less Than A Month

Indian 2, a big-budget movie with Kamal Hassan as the main star, was released in theaters on July 12, 2024. Sadly, it didn’t get good reviews and didn’t make much money at the box office. The movie started with only 26 crore rupees (about 3.5 million US dollars) in India on its first day and ended up making only 83 crore rupees (about 11 million US dollars) total in India.

This is a big disappointment because the movie was supposed to be a huge hit. Even with taxes, it only made 97.94 crore rupees (about 13 million US dollars) in India. The movie did make over 150 crore rupees (about 20 million US dollars) worldwide, but this wasn’t enough because it cost a lot to make.

The movie’s budget was 250 crore rupees (about 33.5 million US dollars), so it needed to make at least that much in India alone to be considered a success. It didn’t even come close, losing 167 crore rupees (about 22.5 million US dollars) in India, which is 66.8% of the total budget.

In better news for the filmmakers, the movie will be released on Netflix on August 9, 2024. It will be available in multiple languages, which could help it reach a wider audience and make some money back.
