Sharing about the project’s inception, Kalyanram revealed, “In 2021, Srikanth Vissa came and narrated the story. The Devil carries a Sherlock Holmes kind of vibe. After listening to the script, I asked him if he had written the story for me. Then I told Srikanth two things. I said we would make the film if we made changes in the script in a commercial style, keeping the hero characterization and the backdrop the same.”
Director Naveen Medaram expresses disappointment
Naveen Medaram has voiced his dissatisfaction over not receiving the director’s credit for ‘Devil.’ Abhishek Nama, the co-producer of the film, has been officially designated as the director of the Telugu movie. Amidst this decision, Naveen, addressed the controversy surrounding on social media.
“I have dedicated over three years of my unwavering effort to bring ‘Devil’ movie to life. From conceptualising the script to developing the screenplay, meticulously selecting costumes to fabrics, choosing locations to designing sets, every element of the film bears my personal touch, realising my artistic vision. I shot the entire film for 105 days in various locations like Karaikudi, Vizag and Hyderabad (except for few days of patch work), making ‘Devil’ truly my own creation. To me its just not a project; it’s my baby and no matter whoever says what, it’s a film by Naveen Medaram.” Take a look:
