Devara’s USA Pre-Sales Hit $2 Million Before Release

Jr NTR’s new action movie, “Devara Part 1,” is set to have a huge opening worldwide on September 27th. The movie, written and directed by Koratala Siva, is also the Tollywood (Telugu film industry) debut for Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor.

Advance Bookings are through the roof

In Hyderabad alone, advance ticket sales for “Devara” on the first day crossed 1 Crore Rupees (about $120,000 USD), which is a big deal. There are 79 shows planned in Hyderabad, and almost 87% of the seats are already booked based on pre-sales. In total, the movie has already made over 10.5 Crore Rupees (about $1.27 Million USD) in bookings just three days before it even comes out. It’s also doing well in Karnataka, another state in India.

USA Pre-Sales Reach $2 Million

Even more impressively, “Devara” has already made $2 Million USD in pre-sales in the United States, with three days still to go before its release. This is a huge achievement, and Jr NTR is the only Indian actor besides Prabhas (from the movie “Kalki 2898 AD”) to have this much buzz before a movie’s release.

The Cast and Crew

The movie stars Jr NTR, also known as Tarak, as Devara. Bollywood actors Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor are making their first Telugu movie appearance in this film. Saif will be playing the villain, Bhaira. The movie also has many other experienced actors in important roles.
