Kamal Haasan met Srividya on the sets of the 1975’s Tamil classic Apoorva Raagangal. She was a popular South Indian actress who according to the sources had fallen in love during the shooting of the film. Their relationship was kept in the dark for many years, seemed that Kamal Haasan was not eager to court Srividya officially.

Srividya was married to George Thomas and later divorced in 1980. She died of prolonged illness in 2006. Kamal Haasan was rumored to keep meeting her in her deathbed.
