Box Office: Animal takes an extraordinary start in advance booking; Ranbir Kapoor set for rule the opening day again

Anticipation for Ranbir Kapoor’s latest film, Animal, has reached a fever pitch, as advance bookings for the gangster drama have taken off with remarkable fervor. Within just 12 hours of its release, the film has sold over 36,000 tickets across three major national cinema chains, PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis. This impressive figure is poised to surpass 50,000 tickets within the next 24 hours.

Animal has shattered all previous advance booking records for Ranbir Kapoor films, eclipsing the 30,000 tickets sold by Brahmastra in its first 24 hours. The current booking figures represent a staggering 60% increase over Brahmastra, suggesting that Animal could reach a total advance booking of 4 Lakh tickets in the North alone by Thursday evening. PVR has witnessed an overwhelming response, with around 30,000 tickets sold, while Cinepolis has garnered approximately 6,000 tickets.

The phenomenal response extends beyond national chains, with single screens also experiencing exceptional demand. The early and enthusiastic reception is remarkable considering that an official announcement was not made for a significant portion of the day. The momentum is expected to continue into Sunday, with a high likelihood of Animal reaching closer to 1 Lakh tickets within just 36 hours of advance booking.

Non-national chains like Miraj, MovieMax, MovieTime, and Rajhans will open partial advances from Sunday, and the data will be available through the weekdays. However, current trends indicate a bumper opening across the board. The pre-teaser and teaser have undoubtedly fueled the excitement, cementing Animal’s position as one of the most anticipated films of 2023.
