After Tiger 3 Failure, No cameo for SRK and Salman in Hrithik Roshan and NTR Jr’s War 2

Salman Khan’s cameo as Tiger in Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan was a fresh idea that delighted audiences. However, when a similar cameo was repeated in Tiger 3, it felt repetitive, and the response was lukewarm. Bollywood Hungama has learned that Tiger 3 has served as a valuable lesson for Aditya Chopra, prompting him to exercise greater caution when expanding his Spy Universe.

“Tiger in Pathaan was a novelty and happened organically. Aditya Chopra and Maneesh Sharma tried to create another scenario in the screenplay of Tiger 3 and the scenario was not as organic as it should have been for a superstar cameo. It’s a lesson learnt and the maverick producer has decided to work on his universe plans more seriously,” a trade source revealed to Bollywood Hungama.

Aditya Chopra has received feedback from industry colleagues expressing concern about cameos becoming gimmicks, leading him to limit their use to instances where they genuinely enhance the narrative. “Initially, there were plans to bring in Tiger and Pathaan in War 2. But now, it’s going to be a pure Hrithik Roshan and NTR JR. film with no cameos from Tiger and Pathaan in the narrative. War 2 is a story driven action film and there is no space for gimmicks in this Ayan Mukerji film,” the trade source elaborated.

War 2 is already in production and is scheduled for release during the Independence Day 2025 weekend. The film is directed by Ayan Mukerji and also stars Kiara Advani in a prominent role.
