Ramanand Sagar’s mythological serial, Shri Krishna had become one of the highest grosser for Doordarshan in 1993. The show which ran for more than seven years made 16 year old Swapnil Joshi a star overnight.

Swapnil Joshi gained popularity on the show for his portrayal, and he was retained for longer than what was initially planned. In fact, he became so popular that people treated him as God in real life. For Swapnil, those moments were the best moments of his career.

Recently, on the occasion of Janmashtami, we spoke to Swapnil Joshi to know how his life changed post Shri Krishna.

“I started my career with serial ‘Ramayan’ where I played the young Luv in it. But, serial Shri Krishna gave me name, fame and money. Imagine at the age of 16, people treated me as God. They used to come to me with lot of devotion. I had become the medium between the common people and God. You know what; no matter how many shows I do in my career, Shri Krishna will always remain special for me,” Swapnil Joshi said to Dailybhaskar.com.
