She was in the news recently, for sharing the diffculties she had to face becasue of her skin color. She faced racism at the age of 7 after her TV show ‘Resham Dank’ went off-air. She gave many auditions but got rejected due to her complexion.

She is best known for her Versatile performance when she played the role of Manu in Jhansi Ki Rani. For making the serial very lively, she worked hard and undergone horse riding and sword fighting for two months. Apart from this training, she also learnt Sanskrit to deliver shlokas.

Apart from TV shows, Ulka has played a lead role in a tollywood movie – Rudhramadevi.
