The horror comedy was released in theatres on 15th August and clashed with two other big-banner movies: Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham’s Vedaa. Despite the competition, the movie emerged as the highest opening at the box office this year. Stree 2 earned a staggering Rs 54.35 crore in India on its opening day. According to a report by Sacnilk, the movie earned Rs 8 crore from special previews on 14th August and a massive Rs 46 crore on Independence Day.
