Vidhu Vinod Chopra Didn’t Want ‘So-Called Hindi Star’ for 12th Fail, Says ‘The Film Would Look Fake’

Vidhu Vinod Chopra, the acclaimed director of films like Parinda, 1942: A Love Story, and Munna Bhai MBBS, made a bold statement at IIFA 2024 regarding his latest film, 12th Fail. He revealed that he deliberately avoided casting a “so-called Hindi film star” for the lead role, believing it would have compromised the authenticity of the film.
