Tabu Questions Why No One Asks Male Actors About Getting Paid More Than Actresses: ‘Change The Perspective’
Tabu is one of the most talented actresses in Bollywood and has always managed to impress the audience with her performances. She has also been vocal about her opinions and recently spoke about the pay parity in Bollywood. While speaking to We Are Yuvva, Tabu questioned why only actresses are asked about the pay parity in the industry and why no one questions male actors about why they are getting paid more.
Tabu said, “Why don’t you ask the person who is paying them more.” She added, “Why don’t you ask the male actor why you are getting paid more? This might change the perspective, and the whole thing will change if there is an outside lens. Physicality is always in the context of the lens that is being carried.”
On the work front, Tabu will next star in ‘Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha’ along with Ajay Devgn in the lead role. Saiee Manjrekar, Jimmy Shergill, and Shantanu Maheshwari will also be seen in the pivotal roles. Directed by Neeraj Pandey, the movie will hit the theatres on August 2.
Tabu will also be seen in ‘Dune: Prophecy’, which is the spin-off of ‘Dune’ film franchise. She will reportedly play a character named Sister Francesca in the show.
The official synopsis of ‘Dune Prophecy’ reads, “Set within the expansive universe of Dune, created by acclaimed author Frank Herbert, and 10,000 years before the ascension of Paul Atreides, Dune: Prophecy follows two Harkonnen sisters as they combat forces that threaten the future of humankind, and establish the fabled sect that will become known as the Bene Gesserit.”
‘Dune Prophecy’ is produced by Legendary Television and Alison Schapker will serve as showrunner, writer, and executive producer. The series will release on Max in the Fall of 2024.
