Stree 2 Success: Shraddha Kapoor Calls It A Team Effort; Confirms Stree 3

Shraddha Kapoor has finally addressed the ongoing debate surrounding the immense success of Stree 2. In a recent interview, the actress emphasized that the film’s triumph was a collective effort, acknowledging the contributions of the entire cast and crew.

“It’s a team effort, from the actors to the director, writer, and producers,” Shraddha stated. “It was pure cinematic joy to be part of something where everyone came together to deliver a solid sequel. And ultimately, it’s the audience that decides the film’s success.”

Stree 3 in the Works

The actress also confirmed that the story for Stree 3 is already in development. Director Amar Kaushik has come up with a new plot, leaving Shraddha excited about what’s next.

Putting Rumors to Rest

Following the box office success of Stree 2, reports surfaced of a credit war between Shraddha Kapoor and her co-star Rajkummar Rao. Publicists of both stars allegedly clashed over who deserved more credit for the film’s success. Shraddha has now put those rumors to rest, reiterating that the movie’s success was due to the efforts of the entire team.

A Successful Sequel

Stree 2, a sequel to the 2018 hit Stree, continues the story from where the original ended. While the first part focused on a female ghost seeking revenge, the sequel introduces a new antagonist, Sarkata, a headless villain who preys on women with an independent voice. The film stars Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Abhishek Banerjee, Pankaj Tripathi, and Aparshakti Khurana.

Released on August 15, 2024, Stree 2 became a major box office hit, earning over ₹700 crore in India. It was part of producer Dinesh Vijan’s horror-comedy universe, which also includes films like Bhediya and Munjya.
