Bhool Chuk Maaf Box Office Day 8: Rajkummar Rao & Wamiqa Gabbi’s Sci-Fi Rom-Com Nears…

Sandeep Reddy Vanga Talks About His ‘Force Against Critics’; Says ‘They Couldn’t Stand’
Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s most recent film, ‘Animal’, has sparked considerable attention within the box office realm. Despite its financial success, this Ranbir Kapoor-starrer has faced criticism for its portrayal of violence and toxic masculinity. Vanga has expressed that a film shouldn’t solely serve as an educational platform and said that there is too much wokeness.

During an interaction with Komal Nahta, Sandeep Reddy Vanga said, “You are right, a film is not a temple of learning. When they don’t learn in school or from there parents then how will a film teach them? I forgot this and thought that maybe it’s okay to judge a film, but this statement reminded me that it’s wrong. There is a saying that, ‘if one says a lie many times, it appears to be the truth’ that is what is happening in Mumbai and the whole country. There is too much wokeness. People are getting hyper sensitive. I don’t know why they are so sensitive towards films, they don’t have this reaction in any other department.”
He added, “When somebody tells me that my film is very dark then I compare it with the world cinema. In comparison, I feel I am average. I want to reach there…the public can reach there but the critics can’t reach there. I make my films for the public but suppose Animal box office run was stopped at Rs 250 crore or Rs 350 crore, the perception created by the critics… this film would have been declared a flop. My force against critics is such that they couldn’t stand but if this velocity was less, people would have thought critics were right.”
