Saiyami Kher To Become First Bollywood Actress To Participate In Ironman Race; Actress Says ‘Hope That Many Others Follow’

Saiyami Kher, an actress from Bollywood, is set to become the first Bollywood woman to compete in the Ironman Race in Berlin this September. This race is known as the toughest triathlon in the world, involving swimming, cycling, and running, all done one after the other, over the course of 40 days. Saiyami believes this race will challenge not only her physical abilities but also her mental toughness.

In an interview, Saiyami shared her excitement about the upcoming race, explaining that she has been wanting to participate in the Ironman for a long time. She initially planned to attempt it in 2020 but had to postpone due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite training for the event, she felt mentally unprepared after the cancellation. Now, she has refocused her determination to complete the race.

Saiyami emphasized the importance of thorough training for all three disciplines of the triathlon. She revealed that a cycling accident in Italy in 2023 caused a setback in her training due to mental distress. However, she resumed training in February 2024 and has been diligently preparing for the past six months, balancing her intense training schedule with her filming commitments.

She highlighted the mental strength required for the race, as participants are not allowed to listen to music during the event, forcing them to spend eight hours alone with their thoughts. Saiyami sees this as a test of her mental resilience and views the race as an opportunity to push her limits and achieve personal victories.

Saiyami encouraged others to participate in the Ironman Race, emphasizing that it is open to anyone willing to invest the time and effort. She expressed pride in being the first female actor from Bollywood to undertake this challenge, following in the footsteps of Milind Soman, and hopes to inspire others to follow suit.
