‘Race 4’ to Continue Story from First Two Films, Saif Ali Khan Returns
Fans are buzzing with excitement after the recent announcement of ‘Race 4’, especially with the return of Saif Ali Khan to the franchise. He led the first two films, but Salman Khan took over in ‘Race 3’.
Writer Shiraz Ahmed shares exclusive details
Shiraz Ahmed, the writer behind all four ‘Race’ films, revealed in an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama that ‘Race 4’ will pick up the story and characters from the first two films.
“For ‘Race 4’, we have continued the story and characters from ‘Race’ 1 and 2. We have gone back to the same world of the first two films,” he said.
Filming to start in January 2025
Ahmed also confirmed that filming for ‘Race 4’ will begin in January 2025. The script is almost complete, and casting is nearly finalized. Saif Ali Khan and Sidharth Malhotra’s involvement has already been announced, and the remaining cast will be revealed by Tips Films soon.
Reflecting on ‘Race 3’
While ‘Race 3’ was a box office success, it received mixed reviews. Ahmed acknowledged this, saying, “In ‘Race 3’, we shifted a bit from the ‘Race’ franchise in terms of characters. If you remove the title ‘Race’ from the film, you will enjoy it. People went to see ‘Race’, but they got to see something else.”
He also explained that having Salman Khan in the film meant certain creative limitations. “We had Salman Khan in the film. So, you need to keep certain things in mind. He doesn’t play negative roles. Mainly, his fans would never like to see him in a negative role. So certain boundaries came about. Still, we tried to do whatever we could.”
Looking ahead to ‘Race 4’
Produced by Tips Films, the first two ‘Race’ films were directed by Abbas-Mustan, while Remo D’Souza directed the third. The director for ‘Race 4’ is yet to be announced.
With the return to the original storyline and Saif Ali Khan’s comeback, fans are eagerly awaiting the release of ‘Race 4’.
